Weekly Initial Unemployment Claims Increase 2,000 to 216,000
In the week ending November 10, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 216,000, an increase of 2,000 from the previous week's unrevised level of 214,000. The 4-week moving average was 215,250, an increase of 1,500 from the previous week's unrevised average of 213,750.
The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 1.2 percent for the week ending November 3, an increase of 0.1 percentage point from the previous week's unrevised rate. The advance number for seasonally adjusted insured unemployment during the week ending November 3 was 1,676,000, an increase of 46,000 from the previous week's revised level. The previous week's level was revised up 7,000 from 1,623,000 to 1,630,000. The 4-week moving average was 1,643,750, an increase of 8,750 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 1,750 from 1,633,250 to 1,635,000.
