DJ-BTMU U.S. Business Barometer dropped -0.4%
For the week ending June 13, 2009, the DJ-BTMU U.S. Business Barometer dropped -0.4 percent on top of -0.9 percent in the prior week. The barometer is now at its lowest level since October 1993. Although the barometer has continued to decline in the second quarter, the pace of that decline has slowed considerably. With the second quarter coming to a close, the barometer is pointing to an overall drop in real GDP of around -2 percent compared to -5.7 percent in the first quarter of the year (according to the BEA’s preliminary estimate).
