U.S. Retail Sales for November increase 0.2%, Ex-Auto up 0.4%
The U.S. Census Bureau announced today that advance estimates of U.S. retail and food services sales for November, adjusted for seasonal variation and holiday and trading-day differences, but not for price changes, were $448.1 billion, an increase of 0.2 percent (±0.5%) from the previous month, and 1.4 percent (±0.7%) above November 2014. Total sales for the September 2015 through November 2015 period were up 1.7 percent (±0.5%) from the same period a year ago. The September 2015 to October 2015 percent change was unrevised from +0.1 percent (±0.2%).
Retail trade sales were up 0.2 percent (±0.5%) from October 2015, and up 0.7 percent (±0.7%) above last year. Nonstore retailers were up 7.3 percent (±1.2%) from November 2014 and food services and drinking places were up 6.5 percent (±3.7%) from last year.
