Weekly Initial Unemployment Claims Decrease 10,000 to 203,000
In the week ending November 30, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 203,000, a decrease of 10,000 from the previous week's unrevised level of 213,000. The 4-week moving average was 217,750, a decrease of 2,000 from the previous week's unrevised average of 219,750.
The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 1.2 percent for the week ending November 23, an increase of 0.1 percentage point from the previous week's unrevised rate. The advance number for seasonally adjusted insured unemployment during the week ending November 23 was 1,693,000, an increase of 51,000 from the previous week's revised level. The previous week's level was revised up 2,000 from 1,640,000 to 1,642,000. The 4-week moving average was 1,681,000, unchanged from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 500 from 1,680,500 to 1,681,000.
