DJ-BTMU U.S. Business Barometer decreased by 0.2%
For the week ending August 8, 2009, the DJ-BTMU U.S. Business Barometer declined by -0.2 percent following an upward revised increase of +0.3 percent in the prior week. With the latest release, the barometer has been revised to reflect updated component weighting and a rebasing to 2005 in accordance with the BEA’s recent comprehensive revisions to the National Income and Product Accounts. Although the barometer was down in the latest week, it was concentrated in a large drop in truck production, otherwise the diffusion of improvement was broad with a rise in 80 percent of the components.
