Construction Spending down 1.0%

The U.S. Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce announced today that construction spending during July 2010 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $805.2 billion, 1.0 percent (±1.4%)* below the revised June estimate of $813.1 billion. The July figure is 10.7 percent (±1.8%) below the July 2009 estimate of $901.2 billion.

During the first 7 months of this year, construction spending amounted to $460.3 billion, 11.8 percent (±1.1%) below the $522.0 billion for the same period in 2009.

The U.S. Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce announced today that construction spending during June 2010 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $836.0 billion, 0.1 percent (±1.6%)* above the revised May estimate of $834.8 billion. The June figure is 7.9 percent (±1.6%) below the June 2009 estimate of $907.7 billion.

During the first 6 months of this year, construction spending amounted to $389.6 billion, 11.2 percent (±1.1%) below the $438.7 billion for the same period in 2009.

The U.S. Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce announced today that construction spending during May 2010 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $841.9 billion, 0.2 percent (±1.6%) below the revised April estimate of $843.3 billion. The May figure is 8.0 percent (±1.4%) below the May 2009 estimate of $915.4 billion.

During the first 5 months of this year, construction spending amounted to $314.2 billion, 12.0 percent (±1.1%) below the $356.9 billion for the same period in 2009.

The U.S. Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce announced today that construction spending during April 2010 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $869.1 billion, 2.7 percent (±1.4%) above the revised March estimate of $845.9 billion. The April figure is 10.5 percent (±1.6%) below the April 2009 estimate of $971.4 billion.

During the first 4 months of this year, construction spending amounted to $249.6 billion, 13.2 percent (±1.1%) below the $287.5 billion for the same period in 2009.

The U.S. Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce announced today that construction spending during March 2010 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $847.3 billion, 0.2 percent (±1.3%) above the revised February estimate of $845.5 billion. The March figure is 12.3 percent (±1.4%) below the March 2009 estimate of $966.7 billion.

During the first 3 months of this year, construction spending amounted to $179.9 billion, 14.0 percent (±1.3%) below the $209.2 billion for the same period in 2009.

The U.S. Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce announced today that construction spending during February 2010 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $846.2 billion, 1.3 percent (±1.3%)* below the revised January estimate of $857.8 billion. The February figure is 12.8 percent (±1.3%) below the February 2009 estimate of $970.4 billion.

During the first 2 months of this year, construction spending amounted to $116.2 billion, 14.4 percent (±1.3%) below the $135.7 billion for the same period in 2009.

The U.S. Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce announced today that construction spending during January 2010 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $884.1 billion, 0.6 percent (±1.1%) below the revised December estimate of $889.6 billion. The January figure is 9.3 percent (±1.4%) below the January 2009 estimate of $974.3 billion.

The U.S. Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce announced today that construction spending during December 2009 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $902.5 billion, 1.2 percent (±1.3%) below the revised November estimate of $913.2 billion. The December figure is 9.9 percent (±1.4%) below the December 2008 estimate of $1,002.1 billion.

The value of construction in 2009 was $939.1 billion, 12.4 percent (±1.1%) below the $1,072.1 billion spent in 2008.

The U.S. Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce announced today that construction spending during November 2009 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $900.1 billion, 0.6 percent (±1.4%) below the revised October estimate of $905.6 billion. The November figure is 13.2 percent (±1.4%) below the November 2008 estimate of $1,037.3 billion.

During the first 11 months of this year, construction spending amounted to $868.9 billion, 12.7 percent (±1.1%) below the $994.9 billion for the same period in 2008.

The U.S. Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce announced today that construction spending during October 2009 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $910.8 billion, nearly the same as (±1.6%) the revised September estimate of $910.4 billion. The October figure is 14.4 percent (±1.6%) below the October 2008 estimate of $1,064.1 billion.

During the first 10 months of this year, construction spending amounted to $794.0 billion, 12.6 percent (±1.1%) below the $908.9 billion for the same period in 2008.

The December figure is 3.6 percent (±1.9%) below the December 2007 estimate of $1,093.5 billion.

The value of construction in 2008 was $1,078.9 billion, 5.1 percent (±1.3%) below the $1,137.2 billion spent in 2007.

The November figure is 3.3 percent (±2.2%) below the November 2007 estimate of $1,115.3 billion.

During the first 11 months of this year, construction spending amounted to $998.4 billion, 5.3 percent (±1.3%) below the $1,054.3 billion for the same period in 2007.

The October figure is 4.6 percent (±1.9%) below the October 2007 estimate of $1,124.2 billion. During the first 10 months of this year, construction spending amounted to $906.3 billion, 5.7 percent (±1.4%) below the $960.9 billion for the same period in 2007.

The U.S. Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce announced today that construction spending during August 2008 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1,072.1 billion, nearly the same as (±1.4%)* the revised July estimate of $1,071.8 billion. The August figure is 5.9 percent (±1.9%) below the August 2007 estimate of $1,138.8 billion.

During the first 8 months of this year, construction spending amounted to $713.5 billion, 5.9 percent (±1.4%) below the $758.1 billion for the same period in 2007.
