DJ-BTMU U.S. Business Barometer edged down -0.9%
For the week ending November 29, 2008, the DJ-BTMU U.S. Business Barometer dropped a hefty -0.9 percent, dragged down by nearly across the board declines in the industrial sector. Though much of the weakness in the industrial sector is a direct reflection of unwinding commodity prices, there has also been a significant drop-off in foreign demand for U.S. manufactured goods adding to the already slow demand coming from the domestic economy. The business barometer continues to reflect accelerating deterioration in the final quarter of the year for the overall economy.
